A walk

My children adore the outdoors.  It doesn't matter what we are doing outside because they just love being out there.  They kept talking abut going outside to kick around their soccer balls, but once outside they decided it was much more fun to help mommy pull out all of the long weeds.  They were a great help and loved helping.  My goal has been to get them outside every day that it has been nice.  Whether we go to the park, the yard or just walk around the neighborhod.

On Sunday we went on a walk throughout the neighborhood.  We have sidewalks and empty fields with wildflowers.  The kids had a blast pointing out all of the different colored wildflowers.  So I picked them each one.  They had a handful of flowers by the time we were done.  We went on a nice long walk.  We passed chalk art, we had to stop and inspect worms, some dead, some alive and we had to stop and pick up acorns.  They ran almost the entire way home.  A simple walk turned into a great thing.  They pointed out animals, flowers, toys and houses.  They saw a dog and kids on bikes.

A simple walk was the highligh of their day.  Mackenzie asked if we could go on a walk another time.  I love how the simplest things, create such a wonderful experience.

Having children really makes you appreciate the simple things in life.
